Review

This book is a discussion purely on technical analysis and for my monyey one of the best regarding Australian marekts. Personally Igot a lot more out of this book than I did Share Trading which was Daryl's first book.

One of the things I love about this bok is it's logical layoout. As with most books on technical analysis there is an introduction to some of the more basic aspects of the market and in particular the charting. From the introduction the book takes readers through analysis of a chart, starting with analysis of line studies and raw price action. I love this as I believe this is the logical way to approach a trade.

Moving averages the MACD and the ADX group are covered next highlighting the best use of these indicators and how to apply them to trading. Daryl's Multiple Moving Averages are also covered in this section of the book, and is a great insight from the trader who has popularised this method of trend confirmation.

Monitoring crowd behaviour through the use of indicators is also discussed and the book has a good section on the use of oscillators and popular trading tools from within this group such as the stochastic and RSI. As with all good books position sizing and risk management stratgeies are covered and the use of the Count back method is also described in the book.

This book would suit a wide range of people from any one beginning in the markets, to those new or old to technical analysis. It is a good book to gain an insight in to the simple but effective methods of Australias most popular technical analyst and trader, Daryl Guppy.

All in all this is a GREAT book regarding the use of technical analysis in Australia. I personally recommend this book to any personal friends wanting to learn how to trade (along with 4 others.) The information presented is very useful and Daryl Guppy has developed a name for himself for being able to explain things in an easy to understand manner, making it easier to apply his knowledge in the market place.
